The bananas help to counteract the unwanted effects of the acidity in the stomach and provide a natural antacid. At the same time though, it will also help you to replenish your potassium. Increasing potassium is very important as you will have lost some electrolytes from drinking.
This is partly what causes headaches and cramping.
This is also why we have included a little salt so that you get the sodium and potassium balance back up - just like drinking an isotonic sports drink!
The honey will improve your blood sugar and give you back some much-needed energy. At the same time, it will also help to counteract acetaldehyde. Acetaldehyde is the main toxic substance that the body creates when it breaks down alcohol. This is what causes most of the hangover symptoms.
